Pollies are up to their old tricks, and Delta says no to a big rock.

The Coalition Majority in the Senate plan to continue to block K-Rudd’s proposed roll back of work choices. Various contenders for the position of leader of the opposition (that mean’s the Liberals now, not K’s team) had proposed different stance on the proposed changes; lay down, the partial block maneuver, or full block!

I know Tony Abbott, disgraced former health minister was in the running. I don’t know what the disgrace was but ‘disgraced former’ rolls off the tongue so well that I’m pretty sure he was. Perhaps it was his pointy features of the fact that the illegitimate 28 year old camera boom operator was not his. Anyway, Tony wanted to block it all together – but word among the Libs was that no one liked him – or his chances. Was Gordon Nuttel a health minister? Anyone?

Tony didn’t get in. And neither did Malcom Turnbul who I think intended to do the complete lay down. He was supposed to be the front runner after Pete Costello took his bat and ball (there’s a topic for another day). The guy who got in was the favourite in the end. His last name starts with a B – further information will be provided as it breaks.

Mr.B says that the liberals will “stand out ground on the proposed reforms until we know what they consist of. [advisable. Good leadership Mr.B] And we will not be supporting any reform that represents a compromise to the current conditions for employees at work”.

Just as a back ground for anyone that didn’t know. One of K-Rudd’s big election platforms was his roll back of the new IR laws, Workplace agreements and the “fairness test” all of which was designed to give Employers basic rights at work. Union rule, red tape, and choked employment should be restored in no time.

It is said that Brian’s proposal was rejected by Delta on account of the burden she is feeling on being step mother to his children. While the relationship continues – it is said to be on the rocks.

Not that I'd ever admit to reading any of your stuff Aaron, but you'd be referring of course to that well known former doctor presumably of Scandinavian roots, Brendon Bnelson, (the second"B" is of course silent).

Cheers,

P (Golly I hope I don't have a typo there!)

and breaking news - apparently reports were wrong and delta did accept the proposal...that should go down well in the UK! Poor delta!

Cathy's right: AdelaideNow, Yahoo News and... erm... Daily India all confirm that Delta has indeed accepted the proposal... I didn't even know she was dating anyone, so maybe you need to make Australian gossip part of your mission.

Also, at the risk of being mean, why does Delta suddenly look so much older and so much like Heather Locklear? She used to be so angel-faced and soft-looking and pretty... (sigh..this is becoming a theme with me.)

oh yes, don't want to go off on a tangent, but i think delta looks better without all that heavy eye make-up!

delta who?

and az, you must do a bit of spell/punctuation checking before you post.

i don't know any of the people in your post, and hel is clearly refraining from mentioning the typos in view of the festive season, or just to win some favourite sister competition, so that's all i can say.

over here, it looks like our next president will be a guy who is known to have received bribes for arms deals and who is facing corruption charges. he was acquitted of the rape (found to be consensual), but he explained to the nation that he hadn't been afraid of catching HIV from her becaused he "showered afterwards".

who can think why we have the highest AIDS infection rate on the planet?

meanwhile all the members of parliament who admitted to defrauding the country of millions of rands in private holidays ("Travelgate") are still members of parliament years later on the basis that they cut a plea bargain with the prosecutor and therefore were not "technically convicted".

shame does not feature highly here. when a former MP was jailed for corruption, the current Premier of our province went and did a celebratory song and dance (literally) outside the prison upon the MP's RELEASE. ... ah, well...

Re spells and typos - my peoples take it as is or they don't take it at all. When Sue is growling at me for being on the computer I am not prepared to to say "Just 10 more minute my dear whilst I proof read my blog post"... I can't blame it on Sue. I just don't like proofing. The end.

Well, I take showers, and I don't have HIV. The man's got a bit of a premise.
